DIY Plastic Canvas Bookmark for Children – easy needlecraft – PDF

While working with different age groups in my embroidery classes for children I noticed that the Plastic Canvas Bookmark project is by far their favourite one.

This is an excellent starting project for children that never stitched before (but not only). I would recommend it for 6 years of age or older children with adult supervision. The plastic canvas and tapestry needle makes it easy for their little hands to handle the materials and they will be able to see the progress pretty fast. That excites them and gives them confidence to learn more.

As any other needlecraft project it stimulates their concentration, focus and increases their dexterity.

This is not a final product but in this easy to download pdf file you will find;

– instructions and tips for learning 2 basic stitches (running stitch and satin stitch)
– the story of the bookmark’s origins for educational purposes
